Consistent. Protected. Ready to Install.

Professionally coated Eastern White Pine boards. Robbins’ pre-finished boards are finished in our dedicated coatings facility for superior quality, consistency, and performance. For both interior and exterior applications, our pre-finishing options save time and reduce waste—no fumes, mess, or delays on the job site.

Our pre-finished boards aren’t just beautiful—they’re built for the realities of modern construction. Coated and cured in a controlled environment, including some with innovative UV technology, Robbins’ primed pine boards and painted or pre-stained wood products deliver better results from the start and fewer headaches in the field.

Benefits of prefinishing include:

  • Sealed boards resist shrinking, cupping, and movement, increasing dimensional stability
  • Completely uniform color and coverage across full order
  • Minimal mess, odor, fumes and no drying time at the job site
  • Faster installation with less prep work
  • Durable surface protection during handling and installation
  • Hand-inspected for quality and minimal product waste
  • Smoother, more consistent finish than field-applied coatings

H2: Our Standard Finish Options

Choose from eight factory-applied stains and lacquers, designed to complement a wide range of styles and use cases. All include at least two coats of finishing lacquer applied in a controlled environment and cured for a finish that’s smooth, durable, and built to last.

H2: Antique

All of the beauty of antique pine patinaed by sun and natural aging, but none of the years needed to do it. This versatile, timeless finish is pale while still letting the natural wood shine.

H2: Honey Pine

The warm glow of honeyed pine can light up any interior space. Made with a pigmented lacquer, this subtle but rich finish retains the beauty of the natural wood grain.

H2: Golden Oak

Our personal favorite, this stain deepens and enriches our pine boards for an elegant yet warm finish. Two clear coats of lacquer let you see just how much definition this stain provides to the natural grain.

H2: Natural

Who can argue with the pure beauty of pine? We keep things simple and classic with just two coats of furniture grade lacquer to highlight and protect the natural look of Eastern White Pine.

H2: Whitewash

Perfect for light and breezy coastal styles, the whitewash finish gives any pine board a clean, bright look while still showing subtle undertones of the wood’s natural grain. Topped with two coats of lacquer to help prevent fading.

H2: Barn Board

We captured the look of an old New England barn with the combination of oil-based stain and furniture grade lacquer. Make your home feel like a piece of history with this rustic, warm grey finish.

H2: Weathered Wood

As if your pine was aged by the salty air of coastal living, the weathered wood coating creates a faded, silver finish accented by warm, flowing wood grain.

H2: White Barn Board

Combine the light, fresh look of a whitewash with the laid-back weathering of barn board. This perfect in-between option is made with three coats of tinted lacquer to protect the color for years to come.

H2: Primed and Ready

We offer two levels of professionally primed boards to match your project timeline and paint preferences. Both are applied in-house to ensure uniform coverage and excellent adhesion—so you’re not starting from scratch at the job site.

H3: Single Coat Primed Select

We use a custom-made, high solids oil based primer on select grade (link to 2.2 Lumber Grades) pine boards to prevent tannin bleed and ensure great adhesion for your finishing paint choice. Ideal for quick installations or projects where a final topcoat will be applied soon after installation.

H3: Double Coat Monhegan

Perfect for longer-term protection and smoother topcoat coverage, our Monhegan primed pine boards are coated first with a high-solids, oil-based primer, followed by a waterborne primer. This adds an extra layer of durability and an outstanding foundation for your paint of choice.
